Audiovox Cruise Control installation

When I tore apart my bike to install the Audiovox, I noticed that there is already a canister in place where the vacuum canister would go. I think my bike has one because it's a California spec model with additional evaporative emission controls. There are three nipples on this existing canister. One feeds to a line connecting both throttle bodies and the other connects to the gas tank. The third nipple is capped. My question is, can I use that third unused nipple and connect it directly to the cruise control main unit and be ready to go without installing the vacuum canister I purchased from Audiovox? Has anybody else come across this issue?

Also, on the issue of soldering, what types of metal can't be soldered together? Can chromed metals, stainless steel or two different types of metals be soldered together? Thanks.

I posted this also in the Wee Strom and General sections.

replied in general section. if multiple sections are used, just link to one place rather than asking the same question. it's best if there is one place for answers.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s
