Four weeks left until my shiny new wee-strom (my first new bike ever
) gets delivered and I'm already stuck into some premature farkling.
I'm making a rack extension to bolt on the existing rack, mounted using the four mounting holes that the rubber pad plugs into.
So today I went down to the dealer today with my verniers to do some measurements of the hole spacing and diameters. Unfortunately I discovered that the rubber pad didn't just pop out as I'd imagined (and I didn't want to wreck the showroom bike), so it was difficult to do any accurate measurements.
So here's what I measured (see the picture)...
Rear holes spacing 148mm
Front holes spacing 160mm
Front holes to rear holes (direct from hole to hole) 174mm
Hole diameters ???
Would anyone be able to do more accurate measurments for me with the rubber pad removed, ideally with a vernier gauge? I could just wait until I get the bike but there's an opportunity to get the rack cut before then that I don't want to miss.
