Anybody mounted a rack on top case?

Hi All,

Did anybody mount a rack on the top of the top case like this one http://www.getgeared.co.uk/LOUIS_Uni..._Luggage_Racks
or this http://www.getgeared.co.uk/LOUIS_Uni...6&category=277 ?

Any pics? Where did you get it from? How do you like it? Home made ones?

Any advise would be appreciated! Thanks!

Attila

I have the factory rack that came with the Givi V46 that came with the bike. It is a place to strap light stuff to if you don't have anywhere else to put it. I have strapped my backpack with binders to it with 4 bungie cords and haven't had it budge on me. It is a little high and creates a moment that has to go through the quick release system of the topcase, so keep it as light a possible.

I like the looks of that Givi rack, think I will order one up for my SHAD 42L top case.

Importations Thibault Ltd out of Quebec (GIVI Cdn distributor) lists the rack at 80.00 CDN. Several places in the States selling them for around 65 USD.

Do you know the price? I could not find it on the GIVI website.

Do you actually need the rack? What about using these on your top box?

Good idea! Thanks!
The rack idea came up when I wanted to pick up 2 XL pizzas for the family and I had to take my cage instead of the Wee on a bright sunny day. (They would not fit behind me on the passenger seat.) These loops combined with a bungee net probably would do the job.

if you do install the givi rack on a givi box . if you look on the inside of the lid there are 4 marks showing you where to drill the holes . its not mentioned in the instructions
