Help with Centech AP-2 install

I'll be the first to admit, I'm electrically iggnorant. I ordered a Centech AP-2 and the relay kit with the intention of hooking up a Starcom 1 digital comm system and a Garmin 2820. I'd also like to add some aux LED driving lights such as the VisionX.

Does anyone have a detailed pictorial on how to install this AP-2? Just reading the one page instructions makes me feel stupid..

I can install centerstands, luggage racks and such but this electronic stuff has me befuddled.

Any help would be great!

Is this what you need? A good switched power source is the orange/green wire feeding the OEM heateded grip connector behind the radiator or feeding the rear brake switch. The brown wire in the sheath to the left of the under seat tray is also a good choice.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Yes! This is a good start. I'm guessing that even when I get my plan together, I should find a mechanical electrician to "watch" me and stop me when I'm about to screw up. I don't mind doing the work, I'm just not confident in my ability.

Maybe if I find such a person, I should take lots of pics and create the very thing I've asked for. It might help somebody else..

Any electrical experts in the Charlotte NC area?

The Centech AP-2 (AP-2, not AP-1) has a split buss. It has the flexibility of having some of the circuits switched and some always on. It's been a couple of years since I installed mine on my VFR but you will need to run another wire from the hot side of the relay (connection #87 in the schematic above) to the supply side of the unswitched circuits. Alternatively if you want all of the circuits switched (not recommended with a Garmin 2820) you can connect wired from connection #30 to both sides.
