Help Installing SW Motech Quick-lock side racks

On my DL1000. I'm reasonably "slightly" mechanically inclined but these crappy instructions have me beat. Poor copying quality and in German to boot. I'd use babblefish but the words are too hard for these old eyes to figure out.

Anyone have experience mounting these, maybe pics of the install so I can compare? Know of a website that has some close-up pics?

Anything at this point would be appreciated. I sat and eye-balled those things out in the garage for a couple of hours and never once did they magically jump up and assemble themselves. That's what needed to happen 'cause I sure couldn't figure them out. ;-)

TIA

I can shoot some more pics if like and send them to you.

I had two left sides and had to wait a week to get the right side in. SO be sure you have both a left and right side.

I am at work right now so I am just winging this.
First. you will have to take off the luggage rack to install the top brackets.
The bottom rear brackets go where the the lisence plate is bolted to the plastic fender.
The bottom front backet goes in a hole by the passenger pegs.

i'll send pics and more description when i get home

Take a look at at the twisted throttle site . Actually select the racks like you were going to buy them and on the right side of the page it has related articles in there it gives a better installation guide

Front top bracket

Top Rear

front bottom

Rear bottom

If this still doesn't help let me know and I'll to give better tips after I get some sleep.

I have ordered several things from Twisted Throttle and aside from the instructions being hard to decifer at times (SWMotech Items), I have been pretty happy with their service. This time, however, I just have to comment.

I ordered a set of Quickloc Side-racks as stated above. The instructions were worthless but with the help of another member of this board, thanks pruav!, I was able to figure things out. Got the right side done and when I tried to test fit the left side (shifter side) discovered that I had been sent two right side racks.

Argh indeed.

Anyway, as this is the second time this very same thing has happened to a member of this board I would be sure to tell Twisted Throttle to be sure all the parts are in order before shipping to you when ordering the side racks.

As I said, I did not have any serious problems with Twisted Throttle prior to this occurance. The fault for this one may actually be SW Motech's. I'll find out for sure tomorrow... I hope. :?:
