dealerships

i tried this in the midwest section with no response. i went to my local dealer to ask about the cough, sputter on my new `05 1000. he said it was probably plugged pilot jets from sitting since last year, and he heard of nothing wrong with the 1000 as far as leaness. he said not to believe what i read on the forums.so, where do you guys go in se. wi. or northern ill. so i can get it reflashed?thanx , jeff

Pilot jets? Aren't pilot jets a carburetor only thing? Maybe you'd be best trying another dealer.

If your dealer thinks your Strom has pilot jets, time to look for another dealer.....fast

Can't really help you in the Kenosha area but I am sure Milwaukee has several shops that have the Yosh. Madison has several that I can give you if you are intrested, local rate seems to be $65.00.

Can you get the new ECM at your shop? My dealership also said the 05 did not suffer from any lean conditions. And he just came back from some Suzuki conference. Anyway I had to raise some stink, but he did call Suzuki and the new ECM is supposed to be here any day, free of charge.
As for the plugged jets. WTF? Try for the new ECM under warranty and I would probably look somewhere else for help in the future.

They also say go the power commander route. I haven't done it yet but it will be the next step if the new ECM doesn't resolve the issue. Don't pay the $330.00 your dealer wants. Fuelmoto in Neenah has them for $259.00.

PS -- i don't spell or grammar check in most cases, but props if you can use my quick typing to debunk the factual foundation of my arguments!!

Madison motorsports are pretty good. They have quite a bit of stuff packed in that store and are very willing to order out for you without prepayment, at least that has been my experience. The shop that is in the lower level, I know little about, but I do know they do not have the yosh.

Best place I can tell you to go to is Motorcycle performance on University ave. I am always impressed by the knowledge these two guys have. I really mean that. Here is the website, http://motorcycleperf.com/Main.htm<b...

http://www.engelhart.com/

The dealer I bought the bike from and where I am getting the new ECM is Madcity power sports. Maybe you will have a more pleasant experience with the service writer than I did. Here is the website, you will want to talk to Stewart http://www.madcitypowersports.com/de...pe this helps.

I read these threads gobb smacked, you guys in the US can buy the strom, and all parts and acceccaries at a fraction of the price we can [and yes I am takeing currency conversion into acount} yet when it comes to your dealers seem they are a complete waste of space. The prices Ive heard quoted for serviceing and the shoddy work, lame excuses and total lack of customer service I read in these threads makes me really appreciate our dealer's over here, we do have some dud's but word soon get's around and they soon smarten up or go broke. My dealer gives me excellent service and good prices for serviceing compared to costs mentioned on this forum, parts and accessaries are dear compared to the US but as good or better than the going rate here , I'm always offered a curtosy bike to keep me mobile and that's just while they service my bike not major work Just seems strange you get it so good one way and totally shafted when it comes to dealer's, I think I prefer paying more but getting good and trusted service than cheaper parts and dealers that think the pilot jet in a FI system is the problem, I'm surprised he didnt want to check if the choke was stuck on as well, guess he was too busy checking the spark plugs on his diesel pickup

Suzuki 1982 GSX e400, my first
Kwaka 1982 Z 750 terrible bike
Yamy 1980 XJ 650 great bike
Suzi 1980 GS 450 got me around
Suzi 2002 GS 500 a real let down
Suzi 2004 DL 650 now this is a bike
