So today, while it's snowing outside, I went into the garage and turned on the heater and rolled the bike onto the lift and decided it was time to replace the stock cans. I had ordered the Delkevic carbon black exhaust ($465.95 incl shpg) and they were just sitting in a box in the corner. I should mention that I'm a computer dude so my level of mechanical aptitude on a scale of 1 to 10 is about a 3.
I looked online for images of already-installed ones to ensure I put things on correctly, and read the instructions, and...it was so simple even I got it right the first time! Yay!! The old cans came off nice and easy, scraped my thumb (only a little blood) when it released too fast because they are SO heavy compared to the Delkevics.
They are beautiful and very light and sound so nice! I left the baffles in and took hi-res pictures during the process so you can enjoy my success vicariously. Now I guess I need the updated MAP on my PCV for the better flowing exhaust. I also have the factory updated MAP and K&N air filter installed. Source anyone?
(Here's links to the 14 images because of forum limitations.) The flash washed out some of the images, the cans are truly black with dark gray crosshatching, there's no white on them, but perhaps that's some kind of reflective stuff the company added?
