Time for another Enduro Guardian skid plate thread
All the threads I could find were at least a few years old, so I think it's about time for another.
After shopping the available options for my K7 DL1000, Enduro Guardian is the clear leader. I'm pretty much sold on going the aluminum route. No, not cheap. But, a good bit lighter.
Any thoughts on the highway pegs? I'm tall-ish (6'2") and wondering if those would even be comfortable for me. I had some really crappy "highway pegs" on the bike when I bought it, but they were up way too high, being mounted (poorly!) on the front cross member of the Givi crash bars. This meant my feet were pretty much at the level of the radiator, so my knees were bent to a comical degree. Not comfortable.
But, I see the Enduro Guardian pegs are a lot lower.
I do plan to order the upgraded hardware kit.
I'll probably get the kickstand switch guard as well. I believe it only comes in steel, so, no material debate there.
I do mostly highway riding, which is why I was thinking about the highway pegs. I'm also looking forward to plenty of unimproved road or trail riding this summer. And the cheesy plastic "guard" from the factory doesn't seem like enough. Last weekend, I lightly scraped my SW Motech center stand on a rock. No damage done other than scratched powdercoat, but it did convince me I should go ahead and get more bike protection.
