Givi PL532 Rack Installation Question

I'm leaning toward the PL532 rack and E21 cases. Sure the cases are a little small, but I already have a nice sized tail bag and won't need anymore room for the length of trips I'm able to make.

Before I pull the trigger on the PL532, I was wondering if there's any issues with the rack itself it terms of having to relocate turn signals, license plate, etc.? And also, does the rack rub or deface the rear cowl or anything for that matter? I'm a stickler for products that can be installed cleanly (i.e. not defacing the bike) and can be removed with no trace they were there.

Any thoughts/feedback/comments are certainly appreciated.

fwiw....I discounted the SW-Motech rack because I don't need the add'l features it offers for that much more money.

No real issues other than how visible it is without bags. Some people have had installation trouble with hardware lining up. Just about all racks encounter this due to the stock luggage rack needing to be moved with more movement in back. Just start all bolts with the racks unseated so the length of the bolt can be moved slightly to connect with the tapped holes. Once started, everything will snug down alright. The OEM parts will be unmarred.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Thanks a bunch greywolf, as always. Can you expand upon your statement of the stock luggage rack needing to be moved? Is that a permanent change in the positon of the luggage rack or just in the interim while the rack is being installed and positioned? Thanks for the clarification.

See http://www.twistedthrottle.com/filem...download/1102/ and you'll notice the Givi rack fits under the OEM rack and the back is lifted more than the front. It's a permanent change as long as the Givi rack is installed. Take it off and the OEM rack goes back into its old position. My SW-M rack does the same thing. It really isn't a much different look than stock.

Yeah it can take some elbow grease to get things to line up, but once you snug it all down it looks like it grew there.

+1 for what Greywolf recommends. Get everything started first. Mine went on without a hitch. used a little medium strength loctite on the bolts other than the rack bolts. just added precaution.
