Turn signal/brake lights?

I have seen a thread about replacing the single contact turn signal socket with 2 contact sockets so you can use them for brake lights as well. So conver from 1156 turn signal only bulbs, to 1157 turn signal and brake light combo bulbs. Can't find the thread. I need to know where you got the sockets. to do this. Thanks.

I just did that for the front. It isn't legal for the back in my state at least and possibly any state. Stop lights and rear running lights have to be red and turn signals have to be amber on a motorcycle. I used the following to do what you want and am happy with it. http://www.amotostuff.com/Merchant2/...650_electrical

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Dual-contact bulbs (1157, 3157) have a low wattage filament (for running lights) and a high wattage filament (for stop and/or turn signals). Can't use one for turn signals and the other for brakes, as one would be too dim.

The product in greywolf's link looks like a good way (maybe the [I]only[I] way) to accomplish what you'd like...might pick up set myself!
