PC3 question

At the Power commander web site for the Dl1000 they have a map "for off road use only" that includes disconnecting the O2 sensor. What does that do?

If you are in the US or Canada or have either nations spec'ed bike you don't have an O2 sensor to disconnect.

As to what the map does, my assumption is that the map will see more fuel on the low and middle ranges than is normally available under other maps, as off road riding invloves slower speeds and elevated engine temps so a richer mixture will allow the engine to run a bit cooler. This map must be high enough in the low end to create a fault by the ecm and disconnecting the O2 will allow the PC to send a dummy signal to the sensor to mask the disconnected sensor.

But this is only a slightly educated guess, contacting the manufacturer is the only sure way to be sure how this map differs from the stock unless you are set up to download it and compare to the oem.
