Military missile tube used to fill exhaust void w/pics

This is what I did with a 37 1/2" military missile or rocket tube. These are 5 1/4" o.d. and about 5 1/8" i.d.. They seal with a screw down cap that has a rubber seal like the ammo cans. Completely water tight. I cut the top off at 3" and then I cut the bottom 14" off and welded the 2 pieces together to get a 17" overall length tube. It weighs 9lb 6oz when done. I mounted it to a Givi rack and then hung 20mm ammo cans as well.
I know a guy who has dozens of these tubes for only $10-12 each.

You are absolutely correct. It is also not heavy enough to balance out the weight of the 650 pipe on the right. What I was trying to say was that compared to the plastic ones it is pretty heavy.

Yeah but that's the beauty of it. Anybody can put a sewer pipe on their bike, not that they're bad, they're just, well, sewer pipes. Anyway as far as weight goes, the ammo cans, Givi racks, the missile tube and mounting hardware weighed a total of 57.75 lbs. The Bestem top box weighs 11 lb. So 69 lb is maybe a little heavier than ideal for tons of storage but the price was right. Less than $300 for everything.
