OEM aluminum luggage lid racks?

The lids on my kit are getting dinged from use and I'd like to install some kind of rack on top of the lids for protecting the lids and hiding those dings. I've checked around this site and elsewhere and the only place I found something on this is at Happy Trails. Maybe someone here made his own? I've even thought of riveting aluminum plates to the outside of the lids.

Not racks but I just cut some 3M stair strips from Home Depot to hide dings. I can get a closer pic if you need it but maybe you can see them here. Maybe that will be a cheap fix for you.

No problem! They come in big strips so you will have to do a little measuring and cutting but it's a pretty easy fix.
