Question NEP CC-4 Help!!!

Ok so I got this thing and I tried to fit it in between the grip and starter switch housing. It wasn't happening so I ground off the little lip on the inner ring like many people said they did. Now the little lip is completely gone and I can fit it in between the grip and switch housing but the grip still stays stuck open without even having locking the arm down. It's just too thick. I can't see how I'll be able to get this thing to work. Anyone else have the same problem and find a resolution? Thanks.

Does the cc4 seem to fit properly otherwise Does the throttle move normally when the CC4 is not secured but if you hold it from rotating with the throttle?

I found when I secured my CC4 to the throttle cable assembly (using a zip-tie) it twisted the CC4 to the point that it would bind and effectively lock the throttle. My solution was to use to use two zip-ties. One went around the throttle assembly. I looped the other zip-tie through the first xip tie and to a hole I drilled in the CC4 and that stopped the CC4 from twisting and binding the throttle.

Another thing you might look at is to make sure you ahve asembled the CC4 properly. iirc, there was a wrong way to asemble it that also seemed to cause binding, although that was quite a while ago so I could be mistaken.

The throttle will not return normally even when the throttle lock is not engaged. It just rubs against the CC-4 and stays stuck.

we have another thread going on about this on the DL1000 forum so you might read through that. If you are using the stock grips, the CC4 will not fit at first. The grips go over a flange on the inside of the throttle tube. You have to move the rubber outward off this flange. This allows room for the CC4 to fit. I took the stock grips off because they were too small diameter anyway and replaced them with some foam grips so I don't have this issue but this could be your problem.

Do you have a link? I searched the Vee forum and found nothing. Thanks.

I pulled the end of the grip off the flange closest to the starter switch housing. Now the throttle returns nicely but the NEP can't get tight enough to lock the throttle. I give up on this thing.
