TRE problem

I used this TRE from www.fuelmotousa.com on my 05 v-strom and the FI warning light wont go off. Is this ok? Or will i damage my bike?

Timing Retard Eliminator (TRE) for Suzuki EFI bikes $28.99

GSXR600 2001-2005 / GSXR750 1998-2005 / GSXR1000 2001-2005 / Hayabusa All years

TL1000R All years / TL1000S 1998-up / SV1000 2003-2005

Suzuki's late model fuel injected sportbikes have electronic circuitry which retards the ignition timing in the first three gears, which also reduces the horsepower. Simply plugging the TRE unit in will increase horspower and throttle response in the lower gears and will eliminate the hesitation / stumble, when you get off then back on the throttle. The TRE also eliminates the top speed limiter. Includes instructions. Installation is very easy, as this is a direct OEM plug in unit, and it can be installed in less than 5 minutes.

Probably won't damage it, but it's not doing you any good either. It's my understanding that the TRE for the V-Strom is specific to that model only and the ones that inlcude the TL are not functional on the 'Strom. Also the TRE for the European model differs from the U.S. model because of the different callibrations.

I think you've got the wrong TRE for the DL. I noticed there were a couple of types, and the one that was for the 'busa wasn't the one for the v-strom.

I purchased one directly from Ivan's Website. Other than a smoother throttle response, the only change my 2003 model is a disabled overdrive light. I had a power commander prior to the TRE and found an improvement by running both.
