Added Capacity Luggage

I added a bungee net to my JCW cases. In addition to allowing bulkly/light objects to be carried outside the case, the net will also keep the case closed if the (somewhat cheesy) latch fails. The cord is 1/8" parachute string held in place with a (heated) knot and a washer. I sealed the holes with RTV. I drilled them where I did because the case is thickest there. With a net on all three cases I should easily be able to carry all my stuff in the cases without resorting to additional dry bags. The tent, cooler, and sleeping bag are all outside the cases! Plenty of room!

I like that. I'm not sure about the side cases though, are you saying you have the netting mounted the same on them so that would mean the load is off the sides?

Don't know where we're going, but no use being late.

Yes the load is off the sides. On one case I have added a folding chair and on the other my tent. The added weight is about 7 lbs or so.

OK, I wasn't as concerned about the weight as much as how secure the load was hanging off the side. I really like the idea though, does give you more carrying capacity in a very simple way.

Added Capacity

Just learn to pack lighter, we all take too much crap with us, I have it down to a science.
2 under armor long sleeve shirts
2 pair bicycle shorts with chamois crotch
2 pair under armor sock liners
2 pair riding socks
1 pair nylon under armor under wear
dop kit(small stuff toothbrush handle cut 1/2 off
1/2 of this stuff I wear, the other half I take along, change out everyday, wash the other 1/2. no bulk, no fuss, takes up no room.

I have my camping stuff down to one side of a large dirt bagz, clothes in the other side of the dirt bagz. lugging less is more.

camping gear:
stove, lantern, tent, fuel, boiling pot, coffee cup, steripen, sleeping bag, air mattress, first aid kit, knife, fork, spoon.....the new light weight camping gear takes up no room and weighs very little.
