Handlebar question

Before I scratch up my handlebar mounts I was wondering if anyone could tell me how those nifty chrome caps that cover the top mount bolts come off. I looked through the manual but it just says to remove them.

Thanks,
Marc

OBTW I'm swapping the stockers out for the Pro Taper SE Raptors. Slightly wider, higher, and less pull back.

I installed Pro Taper SE Raptor bars this weekend and like the higher level and less pull back compared to the stock bars. I have extra long arms, 36-37 sleeve, and needed to balance out the cockpit a little. My local dealer didn't have any but they ordered a couple bars allowing me to do a dry fit before buying.

From what I learnt, Motrax are the only folks that make a bar end that has the compression fitting small enough to fit the inner diameter of these. Cycelgear carries them and my local store had some in stock.

Installed:

pullback difference:

Vibes are less than the stock bars at low and high speed. I also installed the suzuki grip heaters. All the cables and wires are long enough for the extra height. Any higher or wider and I think you might be entering frustrationsville when trying to keep the cables and wires around the steeringhead from binding.

I'm going to leave the cross bar as is and see if I can get my etrex gps mount adapted to the smaller diameter.

Cheers,
Marc
