Progressive spring question

I want to replace my stock fork springs with "Progressive" progressive rate springs. The Progressive model number (for a DL 1000 K4) Iíve found in previous posts is : #11-1144.

None of the online sites I've shopped so far (Ron Ayers, Dennis Kirk etc.) list and Progressive models as compatible with V-Stroms. Yet, alot of people have them and speak highly of them.

Can someone clarify that the #11-1144s are indeed correct for the DL-1000 ?, and perhaps why no one lists them as compatible. Thanks.

TL - I don't know about Progressive brand, but Wilburs has progressive springs for the DL1000. I have them for my 650 and they made a huge improvement for me.

You may want to check into them if the Progressives don't pan out.

SpeedStar, What is the model number of your Wilbers ? Do you have specs on them (i.e. beginning and ending rates) ?

For reference I'm 6'5" 230lb. The spec on the 11-1144 springs is .710 - 1.16

Thanks

TL

TL - the Wilbers springs are .65 - .95 range for the 650. I don't know what the 1000 springs are.

I think the DL1000 part # is: 600-285-00 and they recommend 10wt oil with 150mm airspace.

Call Klaus at Wilbers USA. Let him know I told you about them.

Hope this helps,

Devin

HyperPro make 'em for the strom - http://www.hyperprousa.com/catalog.p...0V-STROM%2004>

I'm quite pleased with the set I've fitted to KwakZuk. They have cured the weave problem and have improved the ride a little, and I didn't bother changing the fork oil or setting them up as recommended. Must get around to it one of these days...

hope this helps

Cheers

Update.

Thanks for all your replies. I went with the Progressive 11-1144 after confirmation these were the correct springs. A local dealer ordered them for me. $75.72 OTD. I haven't installed them yet.

I'm going to change out the fork oil as well.
I'm 6'5" 230lb. Any recommendations based on this particular spring and my weight ? Thanks again Strommers.
