Cruise Control

Im going on a week long trip in June and was wondering if anyone out there has put on any type of Cruise Control on their bike. We are doing 200-300 miles in Northern CA each day. I'd love to add one prior to going for those long straight sections. Please advise. Thanks.

I use a Throttlemeister. Basically just a nice looking friction lock. Works great.

Nevermind, I found it online. Does it work with handguards?

Cruise Control

I installed a AUDIOVOX automotive cruise control in my STROM. It is a genuine cruise control with all the features of the cruise in your car. Not too bad to install, and it works great! I live out in the prairies, and I spend a lot of hours on the highway, I don't know what I'd do without it.

I used to use throttle locks, but I don't like them. I worry too much about emergency stopping, a throttle lock might not get shut off in time. The cruise control shuts off electronically as soon as you touch either brake.

The Audiovox unit installs in about 4-5 hours, and costs about $100. Not too difficult to install, you need some basic skills and some basic tools. If you decide to install one, email me and I can give you some shortcuts. If I did mine over again it would go much faster and easier.

Why not go ahead and post them here? That way, we can get an idea of what is involved and it will be recorded for those folks that do a "search".
