aluminum throttle tube for dl650

has anyone used an aluminum throttle tube on their vstrom? and do you have a part number or model number and manufacturer? i noticed my stock plastic one has deformed (looks like a bananna) from the hot grips and is getting tight on the bar. i used moose instead of symtec. i guess i learned an expensive lesson.

is the throttle tube on my bike compatible to the drz400 street legal model? if so there are many aftermarket tubes out there that i can use.

Thanks for your post. I need to change mine due to the fact that it warped when the grip heater was on high for over an hour. An aluminum one should stop that from happening again.

you're very welcome. I posted the same thread on advrider with the part number from Parts-unlimited.com. the moose brand is great quality. I will be sending my old throttle tube to Blair at SV racing so he can duplicate it out of aluminum. i wish dealers had them in stock, so i could have had a better way of comparing. I am happy with what i have, but there is a gap betwen the throttle grip and the housing exposing the aluminum tube. that is because there is a ridge on the tube that prevents the grip from binding against the throttle housing
