Tire Advice....Kings????

I am closing in on 7k on the 2007 Wee and have begun some tire shopping. Here are my requirements.....

70% Pavement
30% Fire Road
Ride a lot of 2-UP with Givi's Packed (View Ride Report Below)

The stock tires, in my opinion, are more like 90% Pavement/10% Dirt and not quiet to my liking.

What does anyone know about these tires???? My two primary questions are.....Will they perform ok riding 2-UP with a lot of weight (Riders and Gear = 400 lbs) and how do they preform in terms of length of wear. (1,000 miles, 3,000 miles, 6,000 miles????)

Never heard of them but they look really good and functional. Really rugged with good tread depth.

They look like a good tire but what can you really tell from that. I read a few reviews and someone claimed that the rear was going to be shot at 4000 miles. That seems like a pretty short life span.

I went to http://www.kingstire.com/index.html and it looks like this tire is not made for the Strom rim size.

You mentioned that the stock tires are noisy? I would be shocked if the King's were any quieter than the stock tires.

King makes a Strom size for the rear.....5.10x17, but I was disappointed to learn that they do not make a 19" front tire in the same model.

I also posted over on ADVRider and have had amazing replies of riders loving these tires. One guy stated that he got well over 10k miles with this tire on a KRL....yeah I know, lighter bike....but still!!!!!

They are very reasonably priced as well. The rear is about $60.

I believe these are tires that are used "primarily" with tubes. They are VERY POPULAR tires for the DR 650, many think they are the best all around tire for the big dual sports.

Probably pretty squirrely in the corners on the Stroms. Perfect for the dual sport thumpers.
