Secondaries Question

I am considering removing my Secondaries.

Over on the Yahoo vstrom2 group there is a whole database of people who did it and love it.

It's Easy, and if I dont like it I can always put them back in.

So, My Question is

What do they do Anyway? The only thing I can see is they might act like a choke, but I find that not that beleivable.

If I remove them will it effect cold starting? I doubt it..

Are they just a Suzuki engineer's pipe dream or something?

What do they do
Why are they there?

Please fill me in if you know?

Thanks
Chris
