650 Handlebars on a 1000

Hi fellas

Can anyone tell me if the handlebars from a DL650 will go onto a DL1000 without any issues?

I'm just bringing a 1000 back to life - I've bought it crash damaged, and I need some handlebars - the bars that are on it cause the clutch line and both the clutch and brake levers to hit the fairing on full lock so I'm conscious about getting the clearances right with the replacements.

Just curious why you don't want to pursue replacing the bars with DL1000 bars? Those should be available just as easily.

The root of all evil, money

I was planning to order some 1000 bars from a dealer but some 650 bars have appeared on ebay so I thought I'd seek guidance.

Bar change between 2004-2005 models

I found out that on the DL650 there is a change in the location of the hole in the handlebar that the right switch pin goes into between 2004 and 2005 models. On the 2005 the hole points up, on the 2004 it is rotated 90 degrees and points toward the rider. I put 2004 bars on my 2005 DL650, redrilled the hole, and the old hole did not show.

If anyone's interested they fit very well, with only the locating hole problem that DL.65L had - sorted with a drill
