Re-worked mufflers

Has anyone pulled the stock mufflers out and removed the std core to put in a freeflow type section? Reason I'm asking is that I would like to free up horses but want to keep the muffler shields on. Long story.
[Oh.... and Heavy, I'm still getting around to doing that double bearing thing to the sprocket carrier! Just for you!]

I drilled the center with a hole saw. Found one to just fit down the pipe from the back, and drilled through the baffel. A very slight noise increase but did make the bike run leaner. After the YOSH all is good.

Totaled on June 9 2012 08 Victory Vision Tour Premium.
No longer riding due to injuries on June 9 2012.

This may help you. It's a 650 muffler not a 1K but I'm sure the innards are similar. Give you an idea of what your up against.
