Givi windscreen

Givi now making V-strom specific screen for K4 models. Can't see it on Givi website, Go to http://www.twistedthrottle.com, go to bike specific and page 2. Givi model number D260ST, 22.4inch tall by 18.6inch wide. Supposed to be 7.1 inches taller than stock shield. Price not bad at 99.00.

They didn't give dimensions of the windshield for the 02 and 03 models, which is cheaper. Does anyone know what they might be?

Howdy, Houston,

Would appreciate a full ride-report after install....thinking about the same shield but would like some feedback before I order. 8)

Thanks!

Will give report when recieved. What I hope to do is pick a day, ride a certain route for about 20-30 miles with varying wind direction and road conditions including freeway with trafic with all three screens mounted. Stock, Givi and C-baileys. Road 230 miles yesterday with stock in normal(low position). Nice ride, have HJC full face. I find I need ear plugs but should probably use them reguardless of screen used. I don't see how the cruiser riders do it with no helmet, ear plugs, screens and wearing shades only. With stock screen have some head buffeting, worse with passing trucks or behind big trucks. Same as with high winds or gusty winds. The C-baileys is very nice with nice air pocket. I just hope the Givi creates a nice air pocket. I haven't seen it mounted on a strom but imagine it will look good.

Cheers

Brief ride report

Received my screen yesterday. Work 12 hour shifts so put screen on this am before ride to work.

Screen is pexiglass, flexible, clear with dark shading at bottom of screen, less severe angle to sides from bottom, black rubber edge cover about 3/4 way around. Fit mounts well. Has gentle recurve toward top of screen to deflect wind. Has in my opinion the best appearance on the bike of any of the screens available.

Short ride to work. Speeds up to 60 indicated. Deflects wind as well as my 23inch c-baileys. (did I say it looks better). Able to ride with my helmet visor up without face blast. Also good side deflection. Weather conditions cool, slight breeze. Can see over shield without problem. To me the rubber edge cover not an issue. Can't wait to do a longer ride with varying conditions.

Present conclusion: for 100 bucks probably best shield for price. Looks great, lines match bike lines well. So far the screen I think should come with the bike.

Will attempt to get my wife to help post pictures.

Ride Report

Rode from Houston to Sherman TX on Monday the 25th. Wind at back all the way. From Houston to Corsicana at indicated 85-90, wind screen performed very well without buffeting. No bugs on face shield. Wear ear plugs and wind noise acceptable. From Corsicana to 45-75 interchange, light rain. Screen does a great job keeping water blasts from cars and big rigs off of torso and helmet. Back from Sherman to Houston today. Windy all the way into face and cross winds. Screen did a great job. Much better than the stock screen and to me better than C-Baileys. I like this screen and it looks good.

Side note. Averaged 40.3 MPG. At 90MPH, Tach at about 6700, MPG 37.6. Best MPG under 5500. Will really consider 16 or 17 count tooth counter shaft sprocket with chain change.
