16 tooth sprocket

I have put a 43 tooth sprocket on the rear and have a 16 tooth for the front which I've not installed yet. Has anyone tried this. I'm wondering if it's too much gearing down.
Thanks.

15T Front & 47T rear = 3.13:1 final stock ratio

16T Front & 47T rear = 2.93:1 final ratio (Just right in my opinion)

15T Front & 43T rear = 2.86:1 final ratio (border line)

16T Front & 43T rear = 2.68:1 final ratio (Way to much in my opinion)

We are referring to the DL650 Vstrom, right?

Personally? Yes, you're going too far. I have the 43T rear on my Strom and I'm very pleased.

Its easy to install the rear. Put on your 43T and try it. If you're not happy then go to the 16T front as well.

Read Stromgirl's praise for the 43T rear.

She's certainly speaking from experience.
