650 or 1000

I cant decide which I want... but I'm buying a bike before summer sets in. I'm a pretty hefty guy weight wise, so the extra grunt of the 1000 would be nice, but I'm also using this as a fuel mileage machine for the most part. I know the 650 is known for its reliability, is the 1000 going to last as long? I assume the 650 would have to chug to keep a person of my weight(and potentially 2 up with my wife) at interstate speed, and would get lower mpg's anyway? I'm looking for the wisdom of people who've owned both. I do a stretch of interstate back and forth daily, but its not a very long stretch. thoughts? opinions? appreciate any input

There is an ongoing thread on the subject at https://www.stromtrooper.com/dl-1000-...-vs-650-a.html and a sticky thread at https://www.stromtrooper.com/general-...ve-thread.html so I'm closing this one as double redundant.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s
See https://www.stromtrooper.com/general-...nicknames.html

Please vote in the poll on what Strom(s) you have at https://www.stromtrooper.com/informat...-you-have.html
