considering 2011 Wee Special Edition "travel package?"

Hello everyone - new on here but would appreciate your thoughts on this new Wee. (pictured)

2011 v-strom 650 ABS Special Edition (travel edition). It seems to be a good price but I am interested in how good the bags are (they are suzuki made) - I have heard they are not good quality and not waterproof. Does anyone have any experience?

What is the difference between a special edition and a none 'SE'?

The price seems to be good and so I am very interested... I was initially looking at a BMW f800gs but I wonder whether I would get just as much fun out of this..

Thanks for your thoughts in advance!

For half the price of the BMW you will get 100% of the bike and enjoyment. Not quite the mpg but $7000 will buy a lot of gas.

What do you ride now ?

I don't think we have the special edition here in the US but I would assume the difference is it includes the luggage. I have this bike with the bags 2011 and also had a 09 BTW in the Orange color. I have not been concerned with the bags leaking, I do have bag liners mainly to help keep the items from falling out when I open them etc.

I have ridden BMW's on/off all my riding life but have found the dealer network far and few between and the cost of care and feeding of the BMW's high. F800gs seems to be pretty good machines once BMW got them sorted out but the cost is about 2x what you can pick up a 2011 Wee now. It wouldn't be worth it too me, you need to ride both and decide for yourself.
