Opinion on Price

A local Dealer has a 2007 Blue Wee with abour 24K on it for $4800. Bike is stock and in very good shape.

Too much? I have a 2001 Shadow 750 that I want to get rid of so being able to trade would be very convenient.

I would vote for too much but then again it is from a dealer. I bought a 2008 DL650 ABS with 5K on it for $5300 last June. Private sale.

Is that out the door?
If they add tax, title and all kinds of other fees on top I say look else where.
If out the door seems ok to me from a dealer.

Not necessarily bad, but not great. I paid 4300 for my 07 2 months ago with 21k, but it's an ABS model and had luggage. And since it was a private party sale, somehow the taxes were lower..

is that the price after some negotiation ? Or just the first number they came up with? Cause if the latter is true i'm sure you can get them off another 400 dollars

2006 DL 650 V-Strom

centerstand, luggage, windscreen... + more -- all the farkling I would desire. Seems like a great bike. But think i will keep looking for some deal on one that DOESN"T have 30,000 miles

nah...

I would keep looking. (just sayin') You will find a much better deal very soon.
You will find less miles and more farkles. I did!
You might even get to "fly and ride! That would be fun.

Methinks there are better deals to be had, but if you gotta have one NOW.... it's not the worst deal out there.

I bought a 2006 Wee last April for about $4600 [9k miles] at a local Harley Dealer. I'd been interested in a Strom, but nobody had any around, and I wasn't about to drive multiple hours to see one. The bike was in top shape, new tires/chain, oil filter, etc, but basically stock. I test rode it for about 1/2 hr, and when I got done, I knew I had to buy it.......

Sure, I could have waited. Maybe I could have driven all day to see a Strom out of State, or maybe I still might be looking to buy one had my Wee not come along when it did.

The thing is, if you take a visit, and decide you really like it - what's a few hundred bux in the long run?, when you can end the search right then and there. That's worth a 'premium' in my book.

FYI, I did sell my previous motorcycle on my own, with satisfying results - the dealers give you nothing for them since they really don't want "old" motorcycles [no sane dealer would buy a 1984 heavily modded + semi-ratty GPz750!].......although dealers find it easier to re-sell cruiser style bikes like your Honda - could be worth your while.
