I think I want to be stromin'

After years of working part time jobs in high school I bought a Ninja 250. I rode it all over CA and put 13k miles on it in about 9 months.... Then I crashed it going around a corner, I don't know what I did wrong but I think it was a combination of me just taking the corner too tight and there was a little lose gravel on the road. I was trying to keep up in a group ride with people on KTM Adventures. The last lesson I learned was ride at your own pace, the bike got a salvage title. A year passes and here I am, with the motorcycle itch after saving up again. This time I want something that I can travel longer distances with easier than the 250. The wee storm sounds pretty much perfect for me, except I'm a little short and worried about the top-heaviness. This may sound bad, but I don't care if my bike gets dropped at a low speed or the faring cracked..because thats going to happy with any bike.....It's between this bike and the BMW F650CS. Thoughts?

I think you are setting yourself up for failure if you think all bikes will get dropped. But, if you are concerned about that, BMW pieces are more expensive to replace than Suzuki pieces, and there are plenty of easy-to-install crash bars on the market (at least for the 'Strom). I don't know much about the BMW, but people who ride the Wee say it feels like it has a low center of gravity. You can also get lowering links and different seats.

I ride the 1000, but Wee riders claim to be able to keep up with the rest of the group in all but the most extreme situations.

Best of luck with whatever you decide - M

I agree 100%. I took the MSF course and learned a lot. It is a great course and i recomment every new rider take it. Also they have an advanced course you can take with your own bike and get better with your riding skills.

Wee probally will be cheaper too

I've taken it twice. =) I don't plan on dropping the bike, but I do want to take it off the road..I'm not talking about dropping it on a public road or anything like that.....and I hate it when I make stupid spelling mistakes. The only time besides the incident with my 250 I had an experience dropping it (well I'm not sure if this counts as ME dropping it) A KID RAN INTO IT WITH A BICYCLE AND KNOCKED IT OVER. Damn that pissed me off, I can't believe I kept my cool.
