And my questions to him:
0) What's the mileage on the bike? 17,500
1) When could I test drive it? (I do have a WA endorsement). What would you need ot see for a test drive (I have gear and such). Meet halfway.. mt. vernon.
2) Any mechanical problems with the bike? Would you mind if my friend who knows motorcycles test drove it too? And perhaps taking it by a shop? No; Could meet me at mt. vernon suzuki dealership.
3) Do you have the title for it? Is title clean or re-built? Free and clear.
4) Has it been dropped? Laid it down at a dead stop. Right side. Plates outside the tank stopped it. A little scracthed.
5) Are you negotiable on price? Not negotiable at all. Says he has had 3 calls since he put it up last night. $4k firm.

Do you think this is a good deal?

Would you pull the trigger on this one, or this one: http://www.stromtrooper.com/v-curious/60693-price-check-07-5500-miles;-$5400-but-negotiable-$1500-farkles.html

Should I just wait?

I won't have a motorcycle next week; so I feel some pressure to make a decision this weekend.

Like I mentioned in your other post, salvaged title one is way to expensive, you can easily buy a Vee for that much.

Wee for $4K is not horrible, but you might want to consider some other deals, like these

2008 V-Strom 650, 9,500k, Black, Givi 42L bags, SW Motech crash bars, SW Motech GPS mount, Madstad adjustable windshield mount, all maintenance up to date, been down once, low sided in L.H. curve, only scratches on L. Givi bag, L. fairing, bar end and lower end of L. front fork. 4,300 OBO. (423) 238-6256

or this one '06 V-strom 650 by Suzuki

Don't be fixated on price--no one likes to be shafted, but it is counterproductive to sweat the last hundred or two. Look at at least three bikes, and one of them will seem the better deal, and then take it. At the end of the first week you won't even think about the price you paid. If you have it for years the price paid isn't all that important anyway--just get the best deal available and start riding.

What he said - at the end, $200 or $400 is not that important if you will keep it till it dies. Buy the one your gut tells you the buy, other than the salvage title one that is way overpriced.
