Found an 08 Wee Non-ABS for $5999

I am going to be selling my SV650 Nekkid (or trading in) for the Wee. Need something more touring and less nekkid. If you guys thought the buffeting is bad on the Wee, you should try it without any fairing/plastics at all!

From all I have seen on the forum, $5999 from a dealership is on the high side of the price range. Non ABS, 2008 model, flat black (love it!). It has 13K miles, factory side guards, but little else. No packs, no racks, no panniers, no "farkles".

What do you guys think?

I'm ADVenture curious!

I think you may be getting wind/airflow and buffeting mixed up.

Having owned a couple nakeds, including an SV650, I find there was no buffeting at all....lot of wind, very little protection, but no buffeting.

That said, much better protection on the Wee, you'll probably really really enjoy it.

With respect top price....yes, seems pretty high, but keep in mind, it's a dealer, and it's only the asking price.

For a 2008 non ABS, I would figure close to $5k would be more in-line.

I paid $6200 near the middle of LAST season, for a 2009 with some decent farkles (private sale), which was a good deal, but not a "steal".

Here's the same model you are looking at, less miles, in Austin, asking just under $5k

Chia - I noticed that CL ad. I am going to use it as leverage to the stealership.

I need to find some time to go down to check out the CL one to get a comparison.

True about the airflow. If there aren't cars in front of me, its nice-laminar flow. But, in traffic, I get beatup at 65mph with all the air swirling around smacking my helmet left and [email protected]

Purchased my 08 from private seller. $4500. 3400 miles. Madstad brackets, Coocase rear trunk, hand guards, spencer reworked seat. Service records. Still had all the orange and white stickers on bike. I wanted an 08 due to the few changes made (stator output, dua plug head, reworked ECM and yellow color)It was the best deal I could find but this time last year there was also a good deal from a fellow up in Boston. I was looking for about a year and when I found the deal I got I needed to bid it within twenty minutes of the seller posting. The other great advantage for me was that he is only about 1 and 1/2 half hour away from me, however if it was a fly and ride deal I would also have done that. Just my two cents, waiting and watching for about 9 months and I got a great deal (in my opinion) and exaclty what I wanted.

Under 5k for a used 08 should be easy to find.

I gave $5250 OTD at a dealer in Houston for a clean, flat black 2008 non-abs with 11,000 miles on it and no farkles in early '09.

I'd say that ~$6k is pretty high. If you keep shopping, I'd bet you could find one closer to 4k.

Thanks for the feedback. If the dealer ever calls me back (so far not making a good impression on me that I stopped by twice, and they have yet to call me back), I'm gonna definitely lowball the crap out of him.

Talking 2009 V-strom price

FYI Just paid 4800. from a dealer for a 09 with 1153 mis. No farkles. Flying to Nashville this Sat.11/20 to pick-up. Drop shipped a Madstad and Givi windshield for the ride back to Florida. Old to motorcycling (BSA Lighting 650 first ride) new to V-Strom. I'm sure I won't be disappointed. Thanks to all on the forum.
