2005 Wee Strom no Farkles $4799???

I've been lusting after the Wee/Vee stroms for some time now, and I'm in a position to finally pull the trigger and get one. The local dealer has a used 2005 Wee 21K miles no farkles listed at $4799. Does this price seem outrageous? Kelly Blue book has it at $3850 with 10K miles.

It must have that gold-plated option. It's about $1500 into fantasy world.

For comparison (too far to travel for) there is an '07 with 10k on CL in St.Louis for $4150 from an individual.

I paid $4600 otd for my '07, with fewer miles, and a pretty good start on my farkling, and they included 10% off all accesories I buy for a year. See if they're flexible on price, and if not, see what else is out there.

I got him down to $4000 but they weren't going to give me anything for my 2005 VStar Classic. So I'll have to sell that first before looking again. I'm assuming by the time I do sell it this bike will be gone.

Try to sell your cruiser instead of trading it in. The dealer would only take $1,200 for my 2000 Honda Shadow with 16,000 miles. I got more that double that selling it on craigslist. I ended up buying a very nice '05 V-strom 650 on craigslist for $3,500. It had 12,500 miles and came with a givi top case and handguards. Not bad.

Try to stay away from dealerships if possible. If you are set on buying from the dealership, make sure you negotiate the "out the door" price. I recently had an experience with buying an atv from a dealer where we negotiated a price that I was comfortable with, only to find out that they would be charging me $200 in "Service Fees" on top of the agreed sales price. Also, if the salesperson does not have to involve the manager, you are not getting their lowest price.

You might want to just go in there and give them a low-ball offer. Take your KBB or NADA values with you. You never know what they will accept.

I bought my 2006 Wee at a Harley Dealership. I'd never ridden one, but was Wee-Curious early this spring. The good thing was, I was able to go for a pretty long test ride, but it only took a few minutes to know it was an awesome bike. Very few for sale in SE Michigan at the time, so when this one came across the radar, the few hundred dollar premium wasn't that big a deal - and guess what - I bought it!

It had just under 9,000 miles, and I paid about $4500 - spotless and bone stock [the previous owner took very good care of it, except that it had brand new Bridgestone Battlewing tires on it, K/N air filter, and a new chain.

I'd say, you have a lot of wiggle room with that dealer on price.

Check your spelling before you post. You accidently typed in 'local dealer' instead of 'local STealer'.
