I am thinking Wee or Versys?

I have decided that my next bike is not going to be a cruiser. I recently sold my Suzuki Volusia, and I want some thing different. I have been riding off and on since I had a YZ80 when I was 12. The bight I miss the most was the bike I had in College back in L.A. I had a 1984 Honda Nighthawk 750s. I learned with the Volusia I prefer to sit on the bike but not in it.

I live in Central Arkansas and I ride on mostly hilly country roads. I will use the bike mostly for 2-4 hour rides. I know the wee has better manors on the fire roads, I am not sure I would ride them though..(or I might love the fire roads too..) I have read tons of reviews and several comparisons on both bikes. I like the looks of the Versys better, but I think I would like the longer wheel base and taller front wheel of the Wee.

any input would be much appreciated!

I have had many different bikes the only one that has really filled all the voids has been my Wee Strom it seems to do it all good 500 mi trips to daily driver light off road great gas milage easy to work on also there are many options to upgrade if wanted. This is just my opinion I really never even looked twice untill I did a 1000 mi service for a customer took it for a test drive I was hooked. 08 DL 650 12300 mi

Versys or WeeStrom

I have the DL650, my wife the KLe650 Versys, both 08's

I didn't like the feel of short wheel base on the versys, it felt scrunched to me. However this bike did have a better acceleration than the Strom. Even at cruising speeds, my wife will take off while I may need to double down so that i can catchup faster.
The versys would probably do better of road depending one ones off-raod doings. Both are fine on dirt roads, neither one is an enduro.
I prefere the Strom, longer wheel base give me the feeling of security, my bike is also beefier, when I sit on it It feels like I'm making a statemant.
Both bikes have you sitting tall, gas mileage is about the same. The Strom has more Farkling abilities because it's been around much longer. The Versys is coming along. In the used bike category, my strom has a better value even though both bikes coast about the same.

If you're not going to take it on fire roads, why not get a SV650?

Currently Bikeless

I currently have an 40th anniversary volusia that I'm working with Neosho Powersports as a trade, on the 2011 Strom...when they come out.

I know what your saying, the cruiser is my third bike and just doesn't have the fun factor that my 2nd bike had (GS500).

I'm thinking the 650 is the sweet spot.

I've looked at the Versys also, there are luggage options so carrying capacity isn't that big of an issue.

If you like the looks of the Versys better...then that is your future bike...don't fight it.

I picked a Strom over the Versys because of the longer wheel base (more room riding two up). It just feels better on the highway.
