Vstrom 650 or Tiger 1050, about to buy one or the other

I am debating between the 2 bikes. I know it doesnt seem like a fair comparison. I was on here for a while looking at buying a strom 650 but ended up with another BMW. I have since sold the BMW and I am back in the market. I have ridden a 650ABS strom for a few minutes and I really liked it alot. However it was a short ride and I wasnt really able to put the suspension to the test. I have not ridden the tiger but I have sat on one while running. I will ride almsot 100 percent on road with only maybe a dirt road on an occasion, if even that. However I like to ride alot of paved back roads that are pretty rough like forest access roads. I prefer longer travel. y observations between the 2 are:

The Vstrom is more comfortable
I prefer the vstrom dash
The tiger seems to have a better suspension and brakes
The tiger has optional factory luggage
The vstrom may have better wind protection

My concerns with the tiger are the fuel range, reliability, maintenace, wind protection... Not that it isnt good in these areas, I just dont knwo enough about it in these areas. I beleve some people on here have both or have owned both at one time. I am looking for low maintenance after BMW's.

If you want an all around competent bike, get the Vstrom.

If you want a bike to go a bit nuts with, get the tiger.

If you want a bike that is pretty, get the tiger.

If you are frugal, get the Vstrom.

If range is more important than power, get the Vstrom.

I ended up with a Vstrom.

I should have made note that I ended up with a Vstrom 650 ABS. I am loving this bike.
