Abused wee?

Yes it's true. I'm still looking for the right wee for me. This wee came up in my local craigslist today. I already have an email into the guy and will call him.

I am concerned however about the potential broken valve spring. From all of my friends who ride wees it seems nearly impossible to damage a wee engine unless it's been raced hard. Aside from taking it to a mechanic for an inspection and going through a used motorcycle checklist is there anything else I should be doing to try to determine what has happened to this wee? Any thoughts on how a valve spring would break?

Thanks!

In between bikes. Help me find the right one!

Get the service history and pay particular attention to if and when valve adjustments were (not) done. Broken valve springs are not a normal failure on the 650 engine.

Unless you want a hobby, don't buy it There are plenty of well behaved Wees out there that need a good home.

I'd be interested to see what his "mechanic" has to say about. Probably something like "Oh yeah, it's fine . . ." I don't know, something just doesn't feel right about this one to me. If it were me, I'd keep on looking.
