2993 (Silver) V-Strom DL1000 For Sale

*** Correction - this is a 2003, I mistyped in the Topic field and did not notice it *** (Please do not sure for false advertising!)

This bike is at Tonys Cycle, on consignment.

The following link should point you directly to the add in KIJIJI, but if it doesn't, you just go into KIJIJI.CA and drill down to Kingston and Motorcycles to find it.

The add pretty much says it all. To anyone who knows anything about the V-Strom, and would like to get one but doesn't really want to shell 2 to 3 times as much cash, here is a great opportunity. The insurance is very low, especially for a litre bike!

This is not a "Tim Hortons cruiser", it has rarely been run for much less than a full day or "coupla tanks" run. Buying the DL1000 immediately extended my riding season by several weeks over my previous mount.

Loaded up with camping gear, one never notices a difference in handling or mileage (typically 60+ mpg, regardless of the kind of ride). The only reason I put it up for sale is that I realized last winter that 2009 would likely be the last year for the DL1000 and that I planned to keep on riding one for another 5 to 10 years, plus I had spousal encouragement! I bought a 2009 DL1000 earlier this year, leaving poor "Silver" behind in the process.

I left a copy of my detailed maintenance record with Tonys. As with all my bikes, I used this to monitor and to help predict upcoming tire/oil/chain changes, etc. They have done all of the maintenance work on it, apart from the routine oil changes, etc.

I am very open to reasonable offers. To see it yourself, go to Tonys Cycle in Kingston. Tell them you want it!

D'oh! 2003, I meant to say!

No, I do not have a view that far into the future (2993)! We can all hope that this model really is a classic and that at least one will be still in existence then!
Who knows, it could be this very one, should you decide to buy it and keep it for a looooong time.

I was hoping to pick one up with the Mr. Fusion powerplant upgrade. Guess I'll need to keep looking.
