Legs too short for a V-Strom 1000?

I'm only 5'-8" so the stock set up on my 2004 V-Strom 1000 was obviously too high. My solution was to lower the bike 2" as follows: I purchased a custom made 17" "Black Trinity" front wheel with matching new rotors from SMT machine LLC for $1,500.oo. I mounted an Avon AV53 Trail Rider 120/70ZR17 front tire on it. I customized an SV 1000 front fender to fit over the smaller wheel. I put KoubaLink V-Strom 2 lowering bars on the rear shock. I then had to shorten the side stand by cutting and re-welding it. Having the lower and smaller front wheel made the bike corner more responsively and faster similar to a sport bike feel.
I have recently bought a new Kawasaki Versys that already comes with a 17" front wheel. I gave the 2004 V-Strom to my son who is 6'-2". He did not need the bike lowered. I removed all the parts listed above and put the bike back to stock for him. If anyone would like to buy all the lowering parts for $800.oo plus shipping (if necessary) please contact me. Parts will fit a 2002-2012 V-Strom 1000.

What about just getting 2" sole risers for your boots. A short friend did that 40 years ago to ride a standard BMW R100S. His boots looked a bit odd but so did my older brothers left shoe. He was born with a short leg and the thick soles compensated.
