Hi Dot_dash -
You have to set your PM's to "save copy of sent items"
Very likely they are being sent...hopefully you get a reply.
That looks like a great buy and NJ is not too far away.

The orange 09 on here looks like new. You should be able to pm seller but maybe not. Maybe try to reach out to an Admin for this forum to see if they can give you the access (wave the requirement) for the post count/ membership length. I think the intent for that rule is to keep people from joining just to sell something rather than keeping someone from buying something. I went for a short ride today and saw a 2014 for sale with only 2k miles, 650 adventure for $5300. I just looked ya the 09 on here and it looks like a solid deal.

A 2014 650 Adventure popped up on Craigslist last night for $5500 with 5,000 mi. here in my city. May consider going to look at it. A little above my budget but it looks very well maintained and one owner. Still waiting to hear back about the 2009 on here.

Update --

I've put a deposit down on the 2014 that's here locally. Dark metallic gray. It's super clean, the owner said it's never spent a night outside (heh heh heh, soon to change), has the panniers and crash bar. So, that's a start. 11,000~ mi. I believe I mispoke in my previous post, the 5,000mi. bike is here on Stromtrooper.

I'll post some pics once I have possession of it. I appreciate everyone's help! I hope to be coming around here more.

Final Update:

Riding a Vstrom is exactly how everyone says, easy, smooth, comfortable, and fun. The bike shifts easily and the throttle is responsive. The suspension does great on the hellish roads around here. It has it been a good afternoon.

First thing I want to do is get a taller windshield. At highway speeds, at 6'2", the buffeting sorta sucks and is really loud. Any suggestions? I haven't done much research yet.

Other than that, I'm really satisfied with the purchase. This is my first motorcycle, don't think I've mentioned that... I've been on scooters for about 2 years now at a few thousand miles, daily commuting/riding. I feel comfortable and confident on the Vstrom.

I plan on exploring a lot and taking this bike a very long way. I present "Voyager III"

Awesome congrats! I have a Masted adjustable windshield bracket on mine. It’s finger adjustable and can be raised, lowered, and angled to your needs. Works pretty well. Enjoy the new ride!

Very nice bike! I have also been shopping for bikes, trolling facebook and craigslist. When I saw the orange 2009 you posted I immediately recognized it. It is for sale a shop a town over from me. I perked up when you said it was ~$3500 because it had been listed at $4500. Funny enough, there was another orange 2009 in the same area. I ended up purchasing that one. It had a few more miles and some different farkles, but the owner was great. He had detailed maintenance logs, the original seat still in plastic, an extra new front tire, shop manual. . . You get the picture. He said he also used to post on this forum.

That is a good price for a 2017. No doubt about it. And it is usually cheap to fly into Vegas. Fly in, purchase, ride home. Been there done that. It's fun.

Take the Mrs. Make it a vacation.

Congrats, nice looking Wee, you won't be dissapointed. I second the Madstad brackets, still would like a slightly taller than stock screen for mine, but the brackets make it way better even with stock screen.
