Question Strange uncommon request...

I am selling my BMW R1200RT (or at least trying to) and going back to the VStrom. I loved the 650 Vstrom I had prior to buying the RT and miss it deeply. I'm still undecided between the 650 and the 1000 Vstrom just like I was when I bought my first Vstrom. Is there anyone close to Charlotte, NC who would be willing to let me ride their 1000 for a short distance to test ride and make my final decision? Of course I will have my BMW for you ro ride if it is not already sold. I know this is a strange request, you know, asking a guy to ride his bike is like asking a guy to take his wife out on a date. I would be most appreciative. Weekends are best for me.

Shoot me a private message if you're interested

I think the R1200RT is a much better bike, but if you are missing the 650 the 1000 may not work for you. Try it out anyway.

What is it about the RT you don't loke. Or, what is it about the RT that is making you miss the 650.

I often lose control. I really I hate my life.

I'm missing the smaller size of the 650, the BMW is fast and comfortable but It is just so wide and top heavy. If you're touring, it's perfect, if your city riding, it's cumbersom.

...and when you break down, you are usually 300 miles fron the nearest dealer, and if it is the final drive or transmission, you will most likely have to wait weeks for repairs to be completed.

blah-blah-blah . Don't rub it in... more likely than not you'll be 400 miles from a dealer, and yes it has happened to me. The ever famous fuel pump module went up on the bike and stopped sending fuel to the bike. Lucky for my I own a repo company and one of my trucks was following me when my bike stopped working 6 miles from my house and yes...it was a week till it was fixed. I look forward to the day when I sell the BMW and get back on the Vstrom.

Garage
testimony

Oh my, but that is the most effective testimony as a reason to buy a V that I've heard yet. Maybe it's a good reason not to get the BMW, but in any case. Well put...

Had to drive 400 miles and back to pick up a buddy with a BMW 1150GS when his fuel pump failed. He is now on a 650 V strom.
