Looking at a 2004 V Strom- HELP
I am talking to someone selling a 2004 V Strom 650 with 33K miles on it.
Owner seams honest and open, lives 4 hours away, hasn't ridden the bike much in the last 3 years while in grad school & had a new baby, shared that he dropped 3 times it at no speed or less than 5 mph (bought the engine guard after the first time that scratched the plastic), learned that one of the front shock seals is bad, and thus the front tire is bad, rear tire has some life to it, starts right up, no other problems, registration current. Was asking $2,500, dropped to $1,500 due to work needed. Will throw in padded leather jacket.
I don't have a big budget at the moment so I don't want to miss an opportunity. I also would rather wait and pay a bit more for something I can trust. Is this an opportunity to get in relatively cheap, have the work done, or do it myself, and be riding soon?
I appreciate opinions!
