Also painted the turn signals inside. Brighter but still not enough. Time for led’s.

7000 miles later and lots of fun, I am now looking at a KTM 1290 SAS. The DL1000 has been fun. I’ve added my last farkle to it. It will be looking for a new home

Such a bad ass machine

Went with the S over the R huh? You'll need lots of protection added on the 1290 or you'll be destroying it off pavement, but I'm sure you likely already have a list made up. Hope you stick around the forum, or at minimum give us an update after a good bit. Congrats!!!!!

I started riding only 3 years ago after I PCS'd from Holloman out to Florida. Oh how I regret not having my strom when I was back in NM. Hopefully you have some fun riding all those trails and forests roads in Lincoln National Forest.

This is a good video on converting from halogen to led. https://youtu.be/DeaDrH0gXZk I personally hate led lights. They are great for being seen but lousy at seeing with for exactly the emitting vs. projection mentioned. Use them for blinkers and aux lighting to make me more visible but I'm sticking with halogen or hid for making sure I can see down the road.
