"Hipster" rider comfort ?
I just sold my Kawi Z750S and have decided NOT to go back to a KLR650, which I owned from '02 to '16. I'm obviously looking at the DL1000 and the 650 but was wondering about hip comfort/strain.
My previous issue, knee pain, was mitigated after I got both knees replaced. Now my right hip is 'going'. I refuse to stop riding and will ride through pain, but the pain caused by my Z750 was just too much.
My knees were OK on the Z, but the gas tank on that bike really caused my knees to spread apart, which is what caused all of the pain in my right hip. I guess having my knees bent while my legs spread apart was what really triggered the pain.
To all of you who've owned the older models 650 and 1000, can you tell me which causes your knees to spread further or closer while on the bike ?
Thanks so much. I have my eye on a DL1000, but thought I read somewhere that the 650 has a narrower seat ?
