Need help choosing used dl650.

Just sold my today and I'm looking to buy v strom 650 used off of craigslist/offerup/cycletrader. I just need some input on which one I should get. My budget is around $3000 more or less and i'm looking for one that is farkled out. Here are some of the bikes that i am interested in buying. I'm located in SoCal btw.

https://bakersfield.craigslist.org/m...368295711.html
This one looks pretty clean and it is completely farkled out. Cost is $2400. The mileage is high at 72,000 miles. Any thoughts? The guy does want extra for the racks and luggage cases but i'm pretty sure i can make a deal with him

This one has allot of farkles. $2800 with 61,000 miles. Thoughts?

29,000 miles and he wants $2800. Lest farkles but has low miles. Thoughts?

70000 miles for $3200. Has all the farkles i want but it is pricey and has high mileage. Thoughts?

Thank you!

When I got my 04 it had few farkles but I paid KBB value at $2500 and 23K miles. Farkles can be done on the cheap.
Get the cleanest one that tugs the heartstrings.

I bought a 2007 DL650 non ABS with 50K miles for $2,000 (he was asking $2300). Bike came with Magstad mount, and the upgraded windshield), heated grips, and bar risers. Had small scratches on left side of tank from being layed down, has a little bit of engine paint worn off on the bottom side of engine. Besides that it was pretty clean, also had a recent chain replacement.

1st bike is sold already; did you buy it or someone else?

2nd bike looks pretty nice; quite a bit of farkles and with 60K on the clock, it should still bo another 40k plus miles. I like that is has a skid plate, and a trunk (mine does not). Heated grips got to love that! I have the Calsci windshield also (with magstad mount), and no buffeting that I noticed so far (haven’t ridden on the highway yet though but just a minute or 2). New sprocket and chain is a total bonus.

3rd bike has lowest miles; that is the bike I would buy. The ad says the bike us rough physical condition, yet it looks fine with me, is that a recent pic? A little scratches is ok with me on a bike like this. Based on the pics, it looks good and low miles with some mods and even has the side bags.

4th bike is most expensive and the highest miles. Looks to be setup for touring, kind of nice but the 2nd and the 3rd bike both are a better deal overall.

Go with bike 3 (first choice) or bike #2 (my 2nd choice). Bike 1 is sold, leaving only bike 4 at the ends with highest miles and highest cost, pass on that one unless something about it makes your hear pitter padder.

I agree with talonstrom72!
You could also widen your search a little, see if anything else pops up.

Of these four:

A. Has been sold
B. Has been repainted and decals removed - Why?
C. Is original and obviously owned by a fussy/diligent owner. And has 30-40,000 miles less!

But do take the time to look around. It's a buyers market.

Just spoke with the owner. He wants $2500 but the bike has 78,000 miles. He has every service record ever done to the bike and has done the 4 corners of the U.S. on it. Has every farkle I could ever want. Amy thoughts?

Ad Hunt'r - Classifieds Search Engine

This may widen your purchasing horizon?
If the bike has all the farks, wonderful. I have 96K on the Wee now and it's still running well enough to not worry about it.
I'm still farking it up too!

Nothing special stands out in that list, especially with winter approaching.

I would keep on looking for a better deal.
