Buying from private seller - how to arrange inspection?
My first bike, when I got it, I didn't check everything I should have checked, and I didn't get a mechanic to look over it. So it had some problems that I had to deal with down the road.
I think I might have found a local bike on CL that would fit my needs, my wants, and my budget. But I want to have a mechanic inspect it before I pull the trigger.
What's the "etiquette" or "protocol" for these sorts of things? Ask the seller who he uses for his mechanic, or look up someone on my own? Share the inspection price or should I pay all of it? I have No Clue what the "normal" or "standard" way of doing things is.
(Sorry if this is the wrong forum, I just couldn't think of anywhere better to put it. And perhaps it'd be a good idea to sticky this thread if enough great responses are collected? Thank you all!)
