Do I want a Wee? + special seat
- Currently on a KLR650
- 6'4", 300#, 32" inseam (but I easily flat-foot the KLR, the Wee, and the V).
- 90% street, 10% dirt/gravel/ terribly maintained PA roads, 0% tight/technical/serious dirt-biking.
I've been eying the V hungrily for a year now. The KLR is working really hard pulling me up the mountains around here, and the vibrations and wind are really cutting into my riding enjoyment. Due to my size, I assume the Wee is not a good choice - also, coming from a 650 (the KLR) it doesn't seem like I'm upgrading, oompf-wise.
Then yesterday I got 2 minutes on a Wee. Much to my surprise I think it's my next bike - quote in hand/ deal worked out.
A few concerns are holding me back:
Any, uh, "large" riders on the Wee have any feedback? Will I just end up wanting the V after a few months on a Wee?
I LOVE the that the KLR seat is a flat bench. I can slide way back or come up and hug the tank. I've looked at the Russel, Sargeant, and Corbin after-market seats for the Strom, but what I don't see is a "screw the pillion, here's a 'uni-level' seat" option. Having the driver's seat section at the same height as the pillion looks like it would give several inches of height, AND allow the rider to scooch all the way back if they wanted to. Both of these would be a big plus for me, and I'd rather have a taller seat than lower pegs.
Is there any after-market option out there like this? Anyone have anything custom that resembles what I'm describing?
