Ninjette rider contemplating the Wee

I have had a few project bikes over the years, settling on a Ninja 250 in late '06 for commuting duties. After 21k+ miles on the Ninjette, the Wee is looking like a great bike to run on longer trips and some light gravel runs. I'm not looking for a dirt bike, just a street bike comfortable enough for daily duties and the ability to roll down an unmaintained road occasionally. I've sat on the Wee numerous times at the dealership, but never take one out. The Ninjette is actually quicker than I need, so speed is not an issue. If the Wee were slower than my old '88 Subaru I would still be more than happy with it. Every time I see one on the road I get excited. Is it wrong to lust after the ugly?

I'm pretty sure you just described the Wee perfectly. I think this would be a great bike for you. My suggestion would be to test drive one if possible and see what you think.

It will most definitely be more powerful and quicker than your Ninja. However I don't find it at all unmanageable and the power is delivered smoothly. I came from a GS500 to the Wee and it was a very easy transition.

Good luck - hope you find what you're looking for!

It probably won't be until next year, but the Wee is at the top of a very short list. I don't see me selling the Ninjette, but I probably wouldn't do any more touring on it...

Honestly, you'd probably find that the V-Strom totally eclipses your Ninja, meaning that anything the Ninja does, the Strom can do better. Once you feel the torque of that 650 v-twin, you'll probably say to your self "Ninja who?"

I have this problem with my current collection of bikes... I never ride the other two! They're fun bikes, don't get me wrong, but my Strom has them beat for comfort, storage capacity, and ease of riding. Yeah, my Hawk is lighter and turns in easier, and yeah my VFR is way more powerful, but the Strom is the best bike when all catagories are considered. I could "pare down" to just the Strom and be a happy guy.
