Unhappy Wee strom passenger grab

I am looking at wee stroms to tour 2-up with ny wife. She is 4'-11" with rather short arms and legs and we were thinking of the Wee with large side cases but not top case because she cannot swing her leg over to mount (in our 50s are not as nimble as we used to be). On my current bike there is a raised grab bar on the front of the luggage rack. On the Wee that we test rode she noticed she cannot reach the handle opening under the seat as it is a bit low.

Does anyone have any ideas on a solution? - ie seem some sort of a bar that is made for Wee that could be put on the back for her to hold on might work but I have not seen that. I did not study it on the bike at the time as she told me about it later. This could be a fatal flaw as she has to feel secure.

Any tips would be appreciated as I am seriously considerig making an offer on a used Wee but I would need to sort out a solution first.

Top box so she doesn't feel like she's sliding off, and wear a leather belt outside your jacket.

After a few hours the belt won't be necessary - unless you ride like an utter maniac anyway

Her hands on your hips is far better than her holding onto a piece of metal behind her back.

I know that you said no top box but Peters suggestion is probably the best one and all you do is for you and your wife to learn to get on the bike a different way. Have the bike on the stand. She steps up onto the left rider peg gets onto the seat and slides back (like getting onto a horse). You then face the bike and kick your right leg up onto the seat, slide it over and get on. It's hard to describe but with some practice it works and plenty of riders and short pillions do it.

My wife is also short legged. Fully loaded I have to let the wife mount up first. But she insists on having a backrest.

The only thing better than having a pair of long legs wrapped around you..............A pair of short legs try'in
