Wee-Strom with Cruise Control?

I do a lot of longer distance trips -- cycle rallies and camping trips -- and like having cruise control for the mundane parts of the ride. On my current ride -- a Kawa C-14 -- I have an Audiovox Cruise Control for that purpose.

Does anyone know if someone has installed a cruise control assembly on a Wee-Strom? If so, what type was it? If not, is there a technical reason that says it can't be done?

Thanks for your input.

Hey Chuck glad to see you made it over to the "bright" side. Roger here with the Strom, we met at Boyer,WV last month.

The best Strom AudioVox write-up can be found here:

Here's another good read:

The AudioVox can be installed the same way as it was on the Connie. There are some here who have done it, I had one on my '01 Connie and am getting ready to pull the trigger and put one on the Wee Strom.

I wouldn't want to do without mine. It's a great item. The threads at http://11109.rapidforum.com/area=97 are helpful too.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Wee-Strom with Cruise Control

Roger and Greywolf,

Thanks for the reply guys. Roger, I really enjoyed our discussions at Boyer, WV a few weeks ago. I'm looking forward to maybe seeing you again down the road someplace.

I'm not to the place where I'm ready to part with my Kawa C-14 as of yet but at least I now know that the Wee-Strom can be set up with an electronic type cruise control when I'm ready to make the change.

Once again, thanks for the info and ride safe out there.

+1, got one on my Vee and wouldn't want to ride without it now. I guess installation would be fairly similar if not identical for the Wee?
