2009 Engine

I went and test rode an 09 1000 with 10,600 miles on it. I noticed what I would say is a heavy vibration from idle up to 3rd gear while accelerating.

Is this normal for this bike? It rides great at highway speeds and is nicely equipped. I currently ride a 2005 Goldwing and a 1995 VFR so I'm used to very smooth engines.

Could the skid plate be vibrating on acceleration? It seems like it is well secured. Thanks for any input.

Could be a number of things. If you haven't already you might search the "clutch chudder" thread. I enjoy the bike but doubt that it will ever be Goldwing smooth. Welcome to StromTrooper.

Thanks I will check out the thread. I'm fine with stuff like that if it's normal. I just haven't ridden a bike that felt like that. Put a deposit on the bike and plan on picking it up tomorrow.
